The twenty-ninth regret entrusted to The Museum Of Regret is by Jeanie Bell who is a highly active Labour Councillor in St Helens.
My regret is...
In my youth like many I was lost and confused, spent time doing things I regret. Most if all I regret listening to those who made me believe I couldn't achieve, told me how fat, stupid and useless I was.
I spent a long time in my teens and twenties not having the confidence to take chances, believing I would only fail anyway.
Now I know who I am, what I can be and what I can achieve but I also have to battle those voices from my past who creep in to tell me I am not good enough.
It's a regret but it's a regret that drives me forward and a regret that makes me passionate about empowering others, especially young people who may feel like I did.
